I just had my first “real” surgery of my life last week. By real I mean the kind where they put you to sleep and all that. Before this the only other surgery-ish type thing I had done was my wisdom teeth being removed last year. And I will tell you, it’s all really put things into perspective. I had an infection in my jaw bone last year, and had 2 root canals done in 1 month. I couldn’t eat or talk for days on end, and the pain in my jaw/face was insane. Now, with this surgery I had last week, my entire stomach and abdomen is bruised and swollen and I have incisions that hurt like hell, so I can’t sleep any other way but on my back and can’t bend over or hardly move at all. And, we all don’t realize how lucky we are until you get a taste of something like this. Because someone out there always has it worse than you, no matter what your situation is. And I am SO thankful for my family and friends, and thankful to have my health and mobility.
I’ve felt like a zombie for the last four days. My husband had to fly to Seattle for a business trip and is gone until Thursday and it sucks not having him around, but my mom is here helping me recover until he gets back. I had planned to get the rest of book 2 finished up while I was recovering but all I have wanted to do was sleep, so I have gotten nothing done. Today is the first day I have felt like doing anything at all, so I hope to get at least 1 chapter written out. I plan to have 3 more chapters, so I should be able to get it all done and into editing soon to meet my goal of releasing it this month.
